This unit with three small pots has helped us reduce waste and broaden our meals. Here we can now slow cook a meat. Tucked in a corner of the kitchen shelf it has black knobs against a black background. It would be trivial to leave one position on and plug in at a socket that is either on or turned on by accident when using other equipment. The end result would be the cooker running for well, minutes, hours, days or weeks depending on when you next look at it. When going on holiday I normally take a scan around the house and check what is or is not on. If this cooker had a neon (preferably red) on the front then I could tell at a glance that it needs to be turned off. With no light it could either rack up cost or in extremis catch fire.
